Does EasyPay Finance Report to Credit Bureaus?
July 1, 2025

The content on this page is accurate as of the posting date; however, some of the offers mentioned may have expired.
Quick Answer
No. EasyPay Finance says that, currently, neither EasyPay Finance nor EasyPay Leasing reports new accounts to the credit bureaus. That means on-time payments won't build your credit, and the account itself shouldn't appear on your Equifax, Experian or TransUnion reports.
Applying can still touch your credit: EasyPay says its application uses a soft inquiry with two of the three major bureaus, plus data from secondary and alternative credit reporting agencies.
What Is EasyPay Finance?
EasyPay Finance offers point-of-sale payment options at participating retailers for things like auto repairs, tires, furniture and mattresses. Depending on your state, you may be offered one of these programs:
- Retail Installment Contract (RIC): The retailer sells you the product on credit and assigns the contract to EasyPay Finance, which services it. EasyPay says a RIC isn't a loan. Approvals go up to $5,000, with a $350 minimum transaction.
- Lease-to-own: EasyPay Leasing buys the item and leases it to you. EasyPay Leasing owns the item until the lease is satisfied, and early purchase options are available.
- Third-party bank loans: EasyPay Finance also services installment loans originated by a partner bank. It currently services loans previously originated by TAB Bank.
Other companies use the name "Easy Pay" for their own payment plans. This guide covers EasyPay Finance and EasyPay Leasing.
Does EasyPay Finance Report to Credit Bureaus?
Not currently. EasyPay's support page says neither EasyPay Finance nor EasyPay Leasing reports new accounts to the credit bureaus. Its program disclosures add that EasyPay Finance doesn't currently report RIC accounts and EasyPay Leasing doesn't currently report lease accounts to the big three bureaus.
That policy could change, and loans originated by a partner bank may follow the bank's terms. Check your agreement or call EasyPay Finance at (866) 438-8372 (financing) or (866) 470-7575 (leasing) to confirm for your account.
Does Applying for EasyPay Hurt Your Credit Score?
EasyPay says the application is a soft inquiry with two of the three major bureaus, which should not affect your FICO® Score. It also uses data from secondary and alternative credit reporting agencies, and EasyPay notes that scores from those agencies may be affected.

How EasyPay Can Still Affect Your Finances
What Works in Your Favor
- Late payments on an account that isn't reported won't show up on your major credit reports.
- Paying off a RIC early has no prepayment penalty and may reduce the total interest you owe, according to EasyPay.
What to Watch For
- On-time payments won't help build your credit history with the major bureaus.
- If an unpaid balance is sent to a collection agency, that agency may report it, which could hurt your score.
- Lease-to-own costs can add up. Compare the total cost of the lease with the item's cash price, and review the early purchase options.
Tips for Managing an EasyPay Account
- Automate payments: Keep enough in your checking account to cover each scheduled payment and avoid returned-payment problems.
- Know your early payoff options: Review the early purchase options on a lease or pay down a RIC early to save on costs.
- Use the right tools: RIC customers can manage their account in the MyEasyPay app; lease customers can use EasyPay's online portal.
- Watch for scams: EasyPay warns about scam emails impersonating the company, so don't pay through links in suspicious emails.

What happens if I miss an EasyPay payment?
Check your agreement for late fees and other terms. Even though EasyPay doesn't report to the major bureaus, a balance sent to collections could be reported by the collection agency.
