Chase Ultimate Rewards is the incredibly popular rewards program offered by Chase Bank. You earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points by making purchases with Chase-branded rewards cards, including the Sapphire travel cards, Freedom cash back cards, and Ink business cards. Once you’ve racked up these rewards points, you can transfer them to any of Chase’s 14 popular airline and hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio, meaning 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards equals 1,000 miles or points with a partner.

Current partners include:

  • Aer Lingus AerClub
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Air France-KLM Flying Blue
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Iberia Plus
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
  • United MileagePlus
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • IHG Rewards Club
  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • World of Hyatt

Transferring to these partners provides an awesome value, with potential redemptions reaching up to 3 cents per mile (depending on redemption sweet spots, time of year, and where you’re traveling)! Additionally, many of Chase's partners frequently offer transfer bonuses, boosting the value of your transfer. For example, transferring 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards may result in a 30% bonus, yielding a total of 1,300 miles or points with the partner! These bonuses happen frequently, so check for alerts from us often - we keep tabs on what bonuses are happening to keep you in the loop.

Once you have a bunch of points, the fun part is transferring them and using them!

How to transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards

Log in to your Chase credit card account and head to your Chase Ultimate Rewards dashboard. It’s in the top right corner under “Rewards”

Click “Travel.”

From the dropdown, click “Transfer points to partners."

Choose your travel partner from the 14 available - in this example, we'll chose British Airways.

Click “Transfer Points.”

Enter your loyalty program account information for the selected travel partner. Make sure the details are accurate (you only need to do this the first time - Chase will remember your loyalty account details for future transfers with that partner).

Specify the number of Chase Ultimate Rewards points you want to transfer - you must  transfer at least 1,000 points at a minimum (in 1,000 point increments).

Review the details of your transfer, including the number of points, the travel partner, and any associated fees.

Click "Submit” to complete the transfer. Though most transfers happen instantly, some can take up to a whole week to appear, depending on the partner!

After the transfer is complete, log in to your airline or hotel loyalty account to confirm that the points have been successfully transferred

Note: once you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards to these partners, you cannot undo the action, so tread carefully. Meara Algama, who works for Kudos, transferred her Chase Ultimate Rewards to one of Chase’s hotel partners and booked a hotel on the wrong Hawaiian island by accident! Luckily, she was able to work with the hotel partner to cancel the reservation and use her points at the right island, Still, it never hurts to take your time and be careful when you’re transferring points.

Bottom Line

Chase Ultimate Rewards are easy to earn, a cinch to redeem, and provide excellent value when you use them properly. In short, they should be a big part of your card-maximizing strategy if they’re not already.
