How to Stack Two $250 Hotel Credits on Your Chase Sapphire Reserve (Expires 12/31/26)

If you carry the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, there's a limited-time way to knock $500 off a single hotel stay by combining two separate credits on the same booking. The catch is that one of them only lasts through December 31, 2026, so this is worth checking before the year runs out.
The Two Credits You're Stacking
The Edit by Chase Travel is a permanent Sapphire Reserve benefit: a $500 annual credit, split into two $250 statement credits you can use anytime during the year on properties in Chase's curated hotel collection.
The 2026 select-hotel credit is new and temporary: a one-time $250 statement credit for prepaid stays of at least 2 nights at select partner brands, including IHG Hotels & Resorts, Omni, Virgin Hotels, Montage, Pendry, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific.
These are two separate credits with two separate eligibility lists. Most of the time they don't overlap. But some properties happen to sit on both lists, and if you book one of those, both credits apply to the same reservation.

How to Find a Property That Qualifies for Both
- Search the Chase Travel portal for hotels in one of the eligible 2026 partner brands (IHG, Omni, Virgin Hotels, etc.)
- Look for the property tagged as part of The Edit collection
- Book at least 2 consecutive nights
- Select "Pay Now" at checkout. It has to be a prepaid rate, paying at the hotel won't trigger either credit
- Both statement credits should post automatically after the stay, no activation or enrollment needed
Credits typically post within a few weeks, though some cardholders have reported seeing them apply almost immediately after booking.
What You Get Beyond the $500
Booking through The Edit isn't just about the credit. Properties in that collection also come with:
- Daily breakfast for two
- Room upgrades when available
- A $100 property credit for dining, spa, or other on-site experiences
Combine that with the $250 select-hotel credit, and a single stay can end up covering more than half its own cost before you even factor in card rewards.
Don't Have the Reserve? The Preferred Got a Boost Too
If you carry the $95-a-year Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card instead, you won't get access to The Edit or the stacking trick above, but Chase recently increased the Preferred's annual travel credit to $100. There's no minimum night requirement and no brand restriction: book any hotel through the Chase Travel portal with your card, and the credit applies automatically. That alone can offset the entire annual fee.

The Deadline That Matters
The Edit's $500 annual credit isn't going anywhere. It's a standing benefit. But the 2026 select-hotel credit expires December 31, 2026, and it's a one-time credit, not something that resets each year. If you're planning a trip anyway, it's worth checking whether the hotel you're considering qualifies for both credits before you book.
