Prime Visa Bonus: Up to 9% Back Through Sept 30, 2026 (Targeted)
July 1, 2025

Chase and Amazon are running a targeted bonus offer through chase.com/mybonus that boosts your cash back at grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants, but the details vary a lot depending on who you ask, and the activation page doesn't tell you much. Here's what's actually going on.
What Is the chase.com/mybonus offer?
This is a limited-time, targeted promotion for Amazon Prime Visa cardholders. It runs from July 1 through September 30, and it boosts your cash back rate at grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations on up to $1,000 in combined purchases during that window.
The catch is that the bonus rate isn't the same for everyone. Cardholders have reported total rates ranging anywhere from 5% up to 9%, and some people received no offer at all. Chase hasn't explained the criteria, and the pattern doesn't appear to be tied to tenure or spend level in any consistent way. Some longtime cardholders report the top rate, others report the lowest, and plenty of cardholders see nothing on their account at all.

How To Activate It
- Go to chase.com/mybonus.
- Enter your last name, the last four digits of your card, and your zip code.
- You'll see a confirmation that your offer is activated. The page won't tell you the exact percentage or category details at this step.
- Check your email for the offer terms, since that's typically where the specific percentage shows up. If you can't find an email, calling the number on the back of your card is the most reliable way to confirm what you activated.
Some cardholders have also found the offer through the Activate button in the marketing email itself, which leads to the same activation flow.
Why Your Rate Might Only Be 5% or 7%, Not 9%
This is the detail that trips people up. The offer isn't a flat bonus on top of what you already earn. It's a total rate, and it includes the cash back you already get through your normal rewards program.
The Amazon Prime Visa already earns 2% at gas stations and other everyday categories, depending on your card version. So if your offer says "9% total," you're getting 2% through your regular rewards plus a 7% bonus, not 9% on top of your usual 2%. If your offer says 7% total, that's your existing 2% plus a 5% bonus. Chase's own terms spell this out directly: purchases that already earn the same or higher rate than the offer are excluded from the bonus, and you earn the higher of the two rather than stacking them.
What Doesn’t Count Toward the Offer?
A few exclusions are worth knowing before you count on this for your grocery run:
- Purchases at Amazon.com, physical Whole Foods Market and Whole Foods Market 365 stores, and wholefoodsmarket.com don't count toward this offer
- Balance transfers, cash advances, and cash-like transactions such as money orders, wire transfers, and cryptocurrency purchases are excluded
- Person-to-person transfers, account funding transactions, and annual fees don't qualify
- The purchase has to post with a transaction date inside the July 1 to September 30 window to count, and merchant posting delays can push a purchase outside that window even if you made it during the promotion
When will the bonus show up?
Chase's terms say to allow six to eight weeks for bonus rewards to post after the offer period ends. Don't expect to see the extra percentage reflected right after a purchase. Several cardholders have confirmed the bonus does eventually appear as a separate line in transaction history rather than being folded into the base cash back amount.
Is This Offer Worth Using?
If your card already handles most of your Amazon spending and this offer excludes Amazon purchases, the real value here is redirecting your grocery, gas, and dining spend to this card for the next three months, up to the $1,000 cap. At a 9% total rate, that's up to $90 in bonus cash back. At 5%, it's closer to $50. Either way, there's no cost to activating it, so it's worth doing even if your specific rate turns out to be on the lower end.
If you didn't receive an offer, it appears to be genuinely targeted rather than universal, so there isn't a guaranteed way to unlock it if it's not showing up on your account.
Bottom Line
Activate through chase.com/mybonus, then check your email or call Chase to confirm your actual bonus percentage rather than assuming the highest number you've seen mentioned. Remember the rate is total, not additive, and keep your grocery and gas spending off Amazon and Whole Foods if you want it to count. With no downside to activating, it's a quick win for the next three months of everyday spending.
