Amex Is Running a 30% Transfer Bonus to Hilton Honors Through October 14
September 11, 2026

American Express launched a 30% transfer bonus to Hilton Honors on September 1, 2026, running through October 14. It is the largest Amex to Hilton bonus in recent memory. The previous one was 20% and ended July 14, 2026.
What the ratio actually becomes
Membership Rewards normally transfer to Hilton Honors at 1:2. With the bonus, that becomes 1:2.6.
- 1,000 Membership Rewards becomes 2,600 Hilton points
- 50,000 Membership Rewards becomes 130,000 Hilton points
- Eligibility: U.S. Membership Rewards accounts
Is it a good trade?
That depends entirely on what you do with the Hilton points. Hilton is one of the least valuable major hotel currencies per point, which is why the 1:2 base ratio exists at all. At roughly half a cent per Hilton point, 2,600 points is about $13 of value for 1,000 Membership Rewards, or call it 1.3 cents per Membership Rewards point.
Fine, not spectacular. You can beat it by transferring to an airline partner for a premium-cabin redemption.
When to actually do it
Transfer if you have a specific Hilton stay in mind, you have priced the award night, and you are short. Closing a real gap during a 30% bonus is clean value. Hilton has no award chart and prices dynamically, so check the actual redemption first. An expensive cash night usually means an expensive points night. Do not transfer speculatively. Membership Rewards are flexible and Hilton points are not. Once they are in Hilton, they are Hilton forever. One practical note: Hilton transfers are usually near-instant, so there is no reason to move points early. Wait until you are ready to book.
Which cards earn Membership Rewards
The main ones are the American Express Platinum Card and the American Express Gold Card, alongside the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express.
